Welcome to my July favourites. I am going to be posting one of these each and every month! As I have a YouTube channel all about Minimalism it would not make sense for my monthly favourites to be full of new items I have purchased each month... also I don't buy many new items! So with that in mind my monthly favourites will consist of things I've owned for a while but wish to share, favourite books, tv shows, movies and even places!

Sodastream The first thing on my favourites this month is the SodaStream. I have been loving this and using it everyday. For those who don't know, a SodaStream is a machine which carbonates water to give sparkling water. I love sparkling water but if you don't, I believe you can also purchase syrups to make your own sodas using this machine too. I love that I now have this and don't have to keep having an internal battle with myself about how much I love drinking sparkling water but feeling bad about how many plastic bottles I was getting through each week which is obviously awful for the environment. Using the soda stream is completely mechanical and requires no electricity and all you have to do is refill the gas cylinder once its ran out. When we run out, we will send our cylinder back to soda stream and they will refill it and send it back which means saving money and also its better for the environment.

Price: £45-£150 (depending on the model you opt for).

21 Lessons for the 21st Century - Yuval Noah Harari

The second is a book I finished reading at the start of July and that is 21 Lessons for the 21st Century by Yuval Noah Harari. I was gifted this book in February for my birthday and it is a bestseller. The reason I wanted to read this book is because it sounded interesting just going off the title. I knew before I read it that it was structured into short essays covering 21 lessons regarding the 21st century.. but that's all I really knew. Having read this book, the author basically brings up 21 questions throughout the book to evoke though. After finishing this book, I read some reviews and it seems as though people love or hate this book. Although this book did not teach me 21 lessons which I can use in the 21st century it was good in my opinion and I found it very thought-provoking. There were sections of this book which I found more interesting than others such as those on artificial intelligence, work automation and what the future of work may look like. I won't say too much more incase I spoil it for anyone who may want to read this!

Price: £4.99 Kindle, £5.43 Hardcover, £7.69 Paperback

Table:

The next item is something I did purchase. This item was purchased for the purpose of moving into a much smaller apartment. As part of the downsizing process, I sold my desks, dining table and coffee table I previously owned when I lived in a bigger property and with the money I made from that I bought this foldable multi functional piece of furniture. This is the Norden Gateleg table from Ikea, it comes in a light wood colour or white (this is the option I opted for).

I love this because it can be used as a small side console table which has 6 built in drawers for storage, a desk or even a dining table which seats 4 comfortably but 6 at a push. It's super quick and easy to fold it out to use it for different functions and again easy to put back to its smallest configuration. It's been really nice not having to miss out on having a desk, a dining table or a storage unit just because the space I live in doesn't allow all of those pieces of furniture in! Price: £149.00

Running:

The fourth item on my July favourites is not an item but is actually running. I have been running around 3 times a week as I have signed up for a 10k in October where I will be raising money for Arthritis in honour of my Nan. I am loving the challenge this is providing me, getting outside in the fresh air and it is doing wonders for my mental and physical fitness!

Price: FREE (unless you have to buy equipment like trainers) Top Jaw YouTube Channel:

The final item on my July favourites is actually a YouTube channel I've recently found and have been enjoying. Top Jaw is a channel featuring two British guys called Will and Jesse who document there favourite foods and drinks in particular cities and places they visit. I love watching people eat and sharing places they recommend as I love food and travel. I think their editing and style of videos is really cool and yeah just been loving these guys!

I hope you liked this blog post featuring some of my favourites from the past month! Thank you for reading, Hayley
